Turbines for a wind power development in the UK are to be
manufactured by Vestas.
Klaus Steen Mortensen, president of Vestas Northern Europe,
announced that the firm will produce 22 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines
for the Devon Wind Power's Fullabrook facility.
He added that his company is pleased to have received the order
and is looking forward to playing its part in meeting the UK's
carbon emissions targets from the EU by increasing the wind energy capability of the country.
"When completed, Fullabrook will become the largest onshore wind
farm in England," he said.
Mr Mortensen added that it will be capable of producing 66MW
once it has been completed.
Last December, This is North Devon reported that Devon Wind
Power's application for a temporary Anemometer mast at Fullabrook
Wind Farm - which measures wind speeds - has been accepted.
However, approval was only granted for 12 months and Devon Wind
Power was told the mast must be removed by December 1st
2011.
