Solar energy conference to be held in Valencia

Renewable energy experts will be looking forward to a trip to Spain next week to attend a major conference about the industry.

The 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion kicks off in Valencia on Monday (September 6th 2010).

Renewable Energy magazine reports that the event will be chaired by Dr Giovanni Federigo De Santi, while Professor Makoto Konagai of the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Dr Robert Walters from the US Naval Research Lab will also be in attendance.

Dr De Santi explained that the conference is set to bring together experts from various renewable energy branches.

"We are confident that this 5th World Conference will provide the best forum to present the latest progress in photovoltaic development and manufacturing," he said.

The renewable energy expert added that "exciting visions" of the future of the industry will be outlined at the conference.

Colin Stuart of SciDev.net, writing for the Guardian, recently stated that solar power could be used in developing countries.
