A solar power plant in Italy is to be sold by its creator
SunPower.
Independent solar power producer Etrion Corporation has stepped
in to pen an agreement for the purchase of the largest solar power
facility in Italy, the Montalto di Castro solar photovoltaic (PV)
power park.
SunPower president Howard Wenger described the sale of the solar
power plant as an important milestone for his firm.
He added that it emphasises SunPower's success in the solar
power industry.
"Our expanding utility and power plant business provides us with
strong revenue visibility in Europe, the Middle East and North
America through 2014," he said.
Around the world, SunPower already produces around 600MW of
solar power energy.
Earlier this year, the firm announced that it was to partner
Solar Ventures to build three new solar power facilities in
Italy.
The plants are to be located in the Piedmont region and will
produce a total of 11.1MW between them.
