Day4 Energy announces solar power installation

A new solar power development has been revealed by renewable energy company Day4 Energy.

The firm has signed an agreement with Orciano Ambiente Srl to provide solar energy panels for its 1MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic system, which is set to be completed next year in Orciano Pisano, Italy.

Riccardo Felicioli, senior project consultant at the renewable energy specialist, stated that the large-scale nature of the project shows how the company is moving forward.

He said: "As a leading European market for solar PV installations, Italy is projected to add roughly 1,000MW of capacity each year over the next three years."

Luigi Fusi, director of sales and corporate development for southern Europe at Day4 Energy, added that the deal solidifies the firm's position at the head of the solar power technology sector.

The European Renewable Energy Council recently stated that there is a need for more new renewable energy developments across the continent and criticised the European Commission's recently-published Energy 2020 document.
