Professor Nilay Shah is the director of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College, the Co-Director of the Porter Alliance (Bioenergy and Bio-based Materials) and co-director of the urban energy systems programme at Imperial. His research interests lie in the modelling and optimisation of process and energy systems, including bio-energy systems, hydrogen infrastructures and urban energy systems. Professor Shah received the Beilby Medal and Prize (awarded jointly by the Society of Chemical Industry, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Materials) for contributions to research and practice in process systems engineering in 2005 and was part of a team that won the Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award and Prize in 2007.
