Vestas spurs the debate at European Future Energy Forum

                        October 10-12,  2011 – Geneva, Switzerland

Vestas, the global leader in wind technology, is playing an active role in setting the wind energy agenda at the European Future Energy Forum (EFEF) 2011, which will take place in Geneva on October 10 - 12, 2011. This initiative, sponsored by Vestas, has been developed in association with Masdar - Abu Dhabi’s commercially driven enterprise operating across the full spectrum of the renewable energy and sustainable technology industry.

The theme for the Forum this year will be ‘Making Innovation Happen for a Sustainable World’ with a conference programme aiming to inspire future generations  and transfer knowledge across energy sectors and geographic regions, while bridging the gap to actually find solutions to turn ideas into feasible results.

The high profile conference program - which will be accompanied by an international Cleantech exhibition  - will address the challenge of the coming years to identify innovations and visionaries in the  field of renewable energy that will make changes  in the climate change battle and how to implement them. The conference will also highlight the disruptive elements that could hinder this progress.

Vestas is dedicated to turning wind into an even better business, a business on a par with traditional forms of energy. Vestas’ technologically advanced turbines quickly generate a return on investment, and the company is constantly working to make them even more reliable and efficient, so they can support the world`s largest economies in covering their increasing energy needs in a sustainable way.

Vestas is committed to helping develop the wind energy sector at a global level into a world-class modern one and to actively share its 30 years of industry experience and expertise with partners and stakeholders in the wind energy industry.

Vestas executives speaking at the conference will be:

  • Morten Albaek, Senior Vice President, Group Marketing & Customer Insight: Oct. 10 at 10.00-11.15: Inspiration – Building the vision opening plenary session, &Oct. 11 at 9.30-10.45: Visionaries – Shaping the future energy landscape

  • Juan Araluce y Martinez de Azagra, Vestas Mediterranean President: Oct. 12, 13.00-14.15: Inspiration – Building the vision closing plenary session
